The Ultimate Guide to 7 Must-Try Oahu Restaurants
Oahu is a tropical paradise, but did you know it’s a foodie’s paradise as well? No matter what type of cuisine you are craving, the island has something for everyone! If you’re wondering where to eat in Oahu, look no further! Here are six must-visit Oahu restaurants that you will want to add to your next Hawaii vacation itinerary!
1. Over Easy
Located in the cute town of Kailua, Over Easy is the perfect spot to start your day in Oahu. This local breakfast cafe is known for its unique takes on classic breakfast dishes. Their Potato and Eggs are a must-try with their specialty potato puree hollandaise sauce. Trust me, if love eggs benedict, this is not to be missed!

2. Easy ‘Que
Located right around the corner from Over Easy is their sister location, Easy ‘Que so you know it’s going to be good! This casual BBQ restaurant is known for its smoked brisket that is slow-cooked to perfection, served with house-made sauces that add the perfect mix of flavors. Don’t miss their epic sides including their ultra-cheesy mac-and-cheese and their extra crispy tater-tots.

3. Crouching Lion
If you are looking for dinner with a view – head to Crouching Lion. Located along the scenic coastline, this restaurant is a perfect stop for your Hawaiian vacation. Not only are their sunset views absolutely stunning, but their food is equally as delicious. They have small asian-fusion dishes that are tapas style which make for a fun sharing-style meal with friends. Their fried rice was SO good and I can’t wait to go back and order it again!

4. Matsumoto Shave Ice
No trip to Hawaii is complete without indulging in shaved Ice. Matsumoto Shave Ice is located in the super cute town of Haleiwa and is a must-try if you are looking for something that is looking for cold sweet treat. I am not usually a big fan of shaved ice as I think it is usually pretty tasteless, but that is not the case with Matsumoto’s. Be sure to add their condensed milk to your shaved ice for an extra pop of creamy flavor!
5. Gaslamp
Looking for a unique hidden gem in Oahu? Gaslamp is a speakeasy-style restaurant and bar offering an upscale dining experience. Enter the local pub and walk to the back room where you will walk through a secret door and enter the dark, candle-lit speakeasy-themed dining room. We were lucky enough to catch the live Jazz music which added to the ambiance. Be sure to try the “French Laundry” which is a piece of wagyu tomahawk steak that swings over mashed potatoes that they then melt butter over – literally mouthwatering.

6. O’lay’s
For those craving bold, authentic Thai flavors, O’lay’s in Waikiki’s Chinatown neighborhood is a must-visit. This local gem serves up delicious dishes like Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Tom Yum Soup. Be sure to make your way out into the garden in the back for a little Thai oasis in the middle of Waikiki.

7. Sunrise Shack
This surf-shack themed smoothie and snack shop is perfect if you’re looking for a fresh, healthy, and Instagram-worthy breakfast or mid-day bite. Here you will find delicious smoothie bowls, avocado toast, and smoothies made with fresh tropical fruit. Be sure to stop here before you head out on your Hawaiian beach day.
