Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Email, blogging …there are so many different ways to market your business! With so many different platforms out there, it can seem impossible to know where you should be spending your limited amounts of time.
The key is to focus on one or two platforms and focus your time and effort! But that still doesn’t answer the question of WHICH ones to use? First, you want to make sure that your ideal client is using the platform you choose. Second, you want to pick one that you really enjoy using. Third, you want to pick one that really helps you connect with you audience.
I am personally obsessed with Instagram and have had INCREDIBLE results when using it for my business. Here are the 4 reasons why I believe Instagram is one of the best social media platforms for growing your business.
1. Different media options
Instagram has a great variety of options for putting out different types of content. You can easily share photos, video and written content with your audience. This helps you share your message in different ways and connect with users who enjoy consuming content in different ways.
Instagram is a photo sharing app, but over the years has come to be a place to share stories. Business owners are sharing videos to give behind the scenes looks into their lives, telling stories through captions and upping their photo game to really capture the essence of their brands.
With so many different options to share your content, Instagram allows your business to shine in a whole new way!
2. Your audience is hanging out there
More users are spending their time “hanging out” on Instagram for fun. That means that if your business is able to focus time on Instagram, you can reach your audience in a whole new way.
Instagram users are focusing their time watching Instagram Stories, so if there is one aspect of IG that you should be focusing on, it should be stories! Show up on stories if you want to get in front of your ideal clients!
The beauty of Instagram is that it creates a dialogue. While other marketing methods such as email allow you to speak directly to your audience, you may not always know who is on the other end of the email.
Instagram allows you to speak directly to your followers using tools like Comments and DM’s and you can have snappy and quick conversations the same as you would with a friend! This new level of conversation allows for a new level of trust and loyalty to be created with your audience that an email message wouldn’t be able to achieve.
4. Relationship Building
To piggyback off the last point, these types of instant message conversations allow for more casual conversations. When your audience feels as though they are chatting with a friend, they are more likely to develop a sense of trust and loyalty towards you and your brand.
When your audience feels as though they connect with you on a personal level, that is what will lead to sales down the road. People buy from people. We want to connect with those we do business with and Instagram has allowed us to do this in a whole new way!
